Sydney coronavirus hotspot responsible for at least 30 per cent of confirmed NSW cases

A Western Sydney school will remain closed on Wednesday after two of its students tested positive to COVID-19

The city’s northwest is where a cluster of cases has appeared as the number of diagnosed cases nationwide surpasses 100.

In the past 24 hours, six new cases were discovered with at least 61 confirmed cases across the state with 30 per cent of the cases linked to hotspots in Sydney’s northwest.

Up to 100 pop-up clinics will be created across the country and the government will subsidise video consultations as part of a $2.4 billion plan to stop the spread of the coronavirus.

The emergency health package will include a $30 million information campaign to stop panic buying and comes ahead of an economic stimulus package to be unveiled this week.
